What we look after

Six kinds of care,
one familiar room.

Every service here is delivered by Dr. Ramani himself, in the same Coimbatore building, with the same records — and the pharmacy is ten steps from the door.

Newborn Care

First visits in the first week home, then weekly until the weight is where we want it.

  • Weight, jaundice and feeding checks at home pace
  • Breastfeeding and formula support, without judgement
  • A number you can call for the 2am questions

Vaccinations

The full childhood schedule, explained before anything is given — and a plan for anxious arms.

  • IAP schedule, plus flu and travel vaccines
  • Cold chain kept and logged on the premises
  • Catch-up schedules built around your family

Growth & Development

Height, weight and milestones charted at every visit, so we notice small changes early.

  • Percentile curves you can see and keep
  • Speech, motor and social milestone screening
  • Referrals to therapy partners when they help

Adolescent Care

Confidential visits for tweens and teens — puberty, sports physicals, and the conversations that are easier without a parent in the room.

  • Private time with the doctor, parent optional
  • School and sports physicals signed on the spot
  • Puberty, nutrition and mental wellness check-ins

Nutrition Counseling

Practical help with formula, first foods, picky eating and allergies. No lectures.

  • Weaning plans that survive a real week
  • Allergy introduction, guided step by step
  • A private nursing room whenever you need it

Sick Visits

Fevers, ears, coughs and rashes seen the same day — with a sick bay to rest in if the wait is long.

  • Evening slots held open every day for sick children
  • Nebulisation and observation in the sick bay
  • Medicines dispensed at the pharmacy on your way out
Why the building looks like this
“A child who likes the building is easier to examine.”

Fluted teak, lime plaster, terracotta jaali and a red-tiled veranda — built to feel like a house on a quiet street, not a hospital corridor.

Meet the doctor

Dr. S. Ramani

Consultant Pediatrician · MBBS, MD (Paediatrics)

Dr. Ramani has looked after children in this Coimbatore neighbourhood for eighteen years. He built Growing Up as a house rather than a hospital — a courtyard to park in, a veranda to wait on, and rooms small enough that a frightened four-year-old can see the whole of one at a glance.

He sees every patient himself, from the first weight check to the last school certificate. His particular interests are early development, childhood asthma, and helping first-time parents leave less anxious than they arrived.

“Parents know their children better than I ever will. My job is to listen first, then explain everything twice — once for you, and once for the small person on the couch.”
  • MD (Paediatrics), with post-graduate training in child development
  • Member, Indian Academy of Pediatrics
  • Registered with the Tamil Nadu Medical Council
  • Eighteen years in independent practice
Why families stay

Four things we
refuse to rush.

Most of what makes a pediatrician good is time and memory. The practice is built around protecting both.

01

Same-day when it matters

Sick children don't wait for Thursday. Slots stay open every evening for the calls that can't be scheduled, and a person — not a menu — answers the phone.

02

One doctor, every visit

Your child sees Dr. Ramani, not whoever is free. He remembers which ear it was last winter, and that your daughter prefers the left arm.

03

Everything under one roof

Consulting rooms, a sick bay, a nursing room and a full pharmacy in the same building. No second trip across town with a feverish child in the car.

04

A building for small people

A courtyard to arrive into, a shaded veranda to wait on, warm teak instead of steel. Children who like the building are easier to examine.

Parents, in their words

Care with a
personal touch.

“We called at 8:40 with a fever of 103 and were in a room by 10. Dr. Ramani explained everything at our daughter's level, and she left asking when she could come back.”
Priya M. — mother of two, since 2021
